Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Protein Bites
It seems these days, nearly 9 months pregnant (at the time of writing this post), I have a real chocolate problem. That is – if there is chocolate in sight, it will be eaten. I have noticed that when I can’t have wine or beer as my “treats”, I automatically gravitate toward chocolate. BAH. Needless to say, I have recognized this as a bit of an obsession and have started exploring “healthier” alternatives for dessert. This is a recipe I came up with using a whole-food protein powder (shakeology in my case). Certainly, these took the edge off and were much healthier than the sugary chocolate I was reaching for otherwise. These cookie dough bites are absolutely DELICIOUS and actually taste like cookie dough. The biggest struggle with this recipe was to not eat it all at once!
