How to Make Bullet Proof Coffee

There’s been lots of buzz about Bullet Proof Coffee or “BPC” in the media and in the health and fitness world lately. BPC is especially popular in the “keto” community, as it’s high in healthy fats and helps to keep you energized and sustained without ingesting any sugar. I am by NO means a “keto” person, but I decided to do some research and see what all the buzz was about. What I found in my reading was that BPC supports a healthy eating paradigm in many ways. Advocates suggest drinking BPC in the mornings helps to promote brain functioning, increases fat loss, supports your hormonal system, and reduces cravings. Now, I’m no doctor, and I’m not going into detail about the science behind this. I advocate you do your own research. However, I AM here to give you MY recipe for BPC. It’s basic (which it should be for full health benefits), it’s easy, and I have really enjoyed drinking BPC in the mornings. It’s frothy, creamy, and delicious. I typically have a BPC when I first wake up, and I don’t eat a full breakfast until around 10:30 AM. My last caveat: If you’re going to drink BPC, get QUALITY INGREDIENTS since the whole point is to support your health.

Tools You’ll Need:

– tablespoon measuring spoon

-coffee frother (you can get them at IKEA for $3.00, but they’re everywhere; also called a “milk frother”)

-insulated coffee mug

1 tablespoon unsalted, grass-fed butter or ghee (clarified butter with no dairy)

1 tablespoon MCT oil (look up ALL of the benefits of MCTS; GREAT for your body)

12 ounces organic, fresh-ground coffee

Dash of stevia (optional)

Add the butter or ghee, MCT oil, coffee, and stevia to your coffee mug. Mix together and froth well using the coffee frother. That’s it! ENJOY!

*Some people use a blender to make their BPC. From experience, I DON’T. The heat from the coffee makes the lid blow off, it’s a huge mess, and clean-up stinks.

*I recommend an insulated coffee mug because it’ll take you a while to drink. You won’t guzzle this coffee as fast as you would regular coffee. It’s very rich and fatty, and you’ll find yourself sipping on it for quite a while, so it’s nice to have something that will keep it HOT!
