Welcome to The Traveling Cook Abroad, and thanks for visiting my website.
What’s this blog all about, you ask?
Well, I have recently moved to Italy with my husband and will be spending a minimum of three years living here – maybe more. I’ve always loved to travel and have been to over 40 countries in my 27 years. While living in Italy, I’ve decided to make the most of it by pursuing some of my greatest passions in life. I want to share my experiences, tips, recommendations, and recipes with others by creating this blog and eventually a travel guide and cookbook entitled “The Traveling Cook”.
The premise behind this website, as well as the eventual book is based on my greatest passions: food, travel, cooking, and adventure. Throughout the website you will find posts about various cities, predominantly in and around Europe. Each section or “city guide” includes a brief history about each city (in a very reader-friendly register), outlines my experiences and trips, offers (what I think to be) the best aspects of each city, and includes recommendations of restaurants and things to do.
Because the goal for “The Traveling Cook” is to ultimately become a published travel guide and cookbook, I will be periodically posting some of my personal recipes inspired by the traditional European cuisines we indulge in while living abroad for you to try out.
So, thanks again for visiting. I hope you enjoy reading my blog, and please feel free to leave me a comment about your experiences traveling abroad!
